These Official Contest Rules ("Rules") govern the Bombyhead Director of the Year 2026 contest (the "Contest"). By voting in the Contest, or by accepting a nomination as a director, you agree to be bound by these Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest.
The Contest is sponsored by Bombyhead, LLC ("Bombyhead", "we", "us", or "Sponsor"). Contact: support@bombyhead.com.
No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to vote or to win, and a purchase will not improve anyone's chances of winning. The Contest begins when the voting page at bombyhead.com/doty opens to the public and ends at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on July 31, 2026 (the "Contest Period"). Votes submitted or confirmed after the Contest Period are not counted.
The Contest is open to legal residents of the United States. Voters under 18 years of age should have a parent or guardian's permission to take part. The prize is awarded to the winning director, who must be the age of majority in their state of residence, or have a parent or guardian accept the prize on their behalf. Employees, officers, and contractors of Bombyhead, LLC, and their immediate family members, are not eligible to win. The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
To vote, complete the form on the Contest page with your name and a valid email address and select a director. We will email you a confirmation link; your vote counts only after you click that link. Unconfirmed votes are not tallied.
There is a limit of one (1) vote per person, enforced by email address. Using multiple email addresses, address aliases, disposable or automated email accounts, or any other method to cast more than one vote is prohibited.
If the director you wish to support is not listed, you may add them by providing their name, state, and email address. The email address is required so we can invite the director to accept their place in the Contest. Adding a director also records your one vote for them. Adding a director does not place them on the public leaderboard automatically — see Section 6.
Each nominated director is invited by email to accept their place in the Contest. Only directors who accept appear on the public leaderboard and have votes counted toward them. A director may decline and be removed from the Contest at any time. Votes for a director who has not yet accepted are held and are not counted; if a director declines, votes for that director are never counted.
At the close of the Contest Period, the director who has accepted their nomination and received the most confirmed votes is the winner. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the tied director whose winning vote total was reached earliest, based on confirmed-vote timestamps.
One (1) winner will receive five hundred U.S. dollars ($500) and a trophy (approximate retail value under $100). Total approximate retail value of the prize is under $600. The prize is non-transferable. No substitution will be made except by the Sponsor, which may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Only one prize will be awarded.
In addition to the prize above, every confirmed director will receive a digital recognition certificate after voting closes, reflecting their final placement in the Contest. Certificate categories include Bombyhead Director of the Year (the national winner), 2nd and 3rd Place National, National Top 5, National Top 10, 1st through 3rd Place in the director's state, state Top 5 (in states with five or more confirmed directors), Sole Nominee (in states with only one confirmed director), and 2026 Nominee (for all other confirmed directors). Certificates are delivered by email as printable PDFs and carry no monetary value.
The winner will be notified by email within seven (7) days after the Contest closes and must respond within ten (10) days, providing the information reasonably required to award the prize (including legal name, mailing address, and payment details). If the winner cannot be reached, does not respond in time, or is found ineligible, the Sponsor may disqualify that director and select the director with the next-highest vote total.
The winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes associated with the prize, and for any reporting of the prize as income. The Sponsor does not provide tax advice.
The Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any vote, voter, or director that it believes to be fraudulent, duplicated, automated, obtained through bulk or disposable email accounts, or otherwise in violation of these Rules or the spirit of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may result in disqualification and may be a violation of law. The Sponsor's determinations on all such matters are final and binding.
The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Contest, in whole or in part, at any time — including if fraud, a technical failure, or any other cause compromises the fairness or integrity of the Contest.
Information you provide — including your name, email address, and the IP address and time of your vote — is used to operate and protect the Contest and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By taking part, you agree that the Sponsor may send you occasional pageant-related news and updates by email; every such email includes a one-click unsubscribe.
Except where prohibited by law, by accepting the prize the winner consents to the Sponsor's use of their name, state, pageant affiliation, and likeness (including any photo they provide) in announcing and promoting the Contest and its results, without further notice or compensation.
By participating, you release the Sponsor and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim or liability arising from your participation in the Contest or your acceptance or use of a prize. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete votes, or for technical or network failures of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Sponsor's total liability in connection with the Contest will not exceed the value of the prize.
These Rules are governed by the laws of the State of [JURISDICTION], without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. The Contest is void where prohibited.
By casting a vote, or by accepting a nomination as a director, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Rules. To request the winner's first name, last initial, and state after the Contest concludes, email support@bombyhead.com.
