The questions judges really ask, sorted by age and pageant type, with a short tip where it helps. Practice out loud, a few at a time, and keep answers real.
Most pageants don't interview contestants this young. When there is a question, it's usually as simple as "What's your name?" or "What's your favorite color?" Practice saying their name, age and one favorite thing with a big smile. That's the whole goal. The emcee usually reads an introduction you write, so keep it short and true: name, age, and two or three things they love.
How long should a pageant interview answer be?
About 20 to 30 seconds for children, 30 seconds for teens, and 30 to 45 seconds for adults. Onstage answers are shorter: about 20 seconds.
Should my child memorize answers?
No. Memorized answers sound memorized. Practice the questions out loud a few at a time so your child gets comfortable answering in their own words.
What do county fair pageants ask?
Questions about the fair itself, 4-H and FFA, agriculture, and your community, plus the usual questions about school and goals.
